Dr. Steven Thom, ophthalmologist, joined the Fergus Falls Medical Group in May, 2008. Born in Fergus Falls, Dr. Thom graduated from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN, with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Thom interned at the Hennepin County Medical Center and completed his residency at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. After a brief period at North Dakota Eye Clinic in Grand Forks, Dr. Thom began practicing in 1998 at the MeritCare Medical Center in Fargo, ND. Dr. Thom is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, North Dakota Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, North Dakota Medical Association, and Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. Dr. Thom and his wife, Tara, who also grew up in Fergus Falls, have three children. Dr. Thom's interests include basktball, tennis, golf, waterfowl hunting, and fishing.
