Originally from Bloomer, Wisconsin, Dr. Van Valkenburg graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, with a B.S. in chemistry and earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of North Dakota in Fargo. Dr. Van Valkenburg was an emergency department physician in Fargo before joining the Fergus Falls Medical Group. He will provide Urgent Care services at the Fergus Falls Medical Group, P.A. Dr. Van Valkenburg is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Van Valkenburg has three children. He and his wife, Janeen enjoy wildlife management, fishing, sailing, and crosscountry skiing.
