History of the Fergus Falls Medical Group
The Fergus Falls Medical Group is the result of a merger between the Fergus Falls Clinic and the Park Region Medical Center in 1967.
The Fergus Falls Clinic was founded in 1902, and the Park Region Medical Center in 1939. The merger of these two groups, and their combined dedication to quality medical care, has resulted in a large multi-specialty group today with physician specialists, mid-level providers, and medically trained professionals available to provide comprehensive up-to-date medical care.
In 1970, the Medical Group moved into their present building, which offers direct access to Lake Region Healthcare Corporation.
With the addition of Clinics in Ashby, Battle Lake, at the WestRidge Mall, and most recently the addtion of the Wheaton Community Health Center, Valley Clinic at Browns Valley and the Herman Clinic, services have expanded to make quality health care more convenient for our out-of-town patients. The Medical Group has a long history of providing quality care to its patients and that is our commitment for the future.
Surgery
Limited surgical procedures and treatment of fractures can be done at the clinic. For more extensive surgery you will be admitted to Lake Region Healthcare Corporation.
Some insurance companies require a second opinion before surgery, or they may limit procedures which can be done on an inpatient basis. Before surgery, check with our Patient Care Coordinator or the hospital business office to determine if there are any restrictions on your insurance policy.
